When we first tested out this underseat subwoofer, we were quite impressed with how much bass this compact subwoofer can deliver. It does take some time for this subwoofer to break in to get the best sound quality out from it. In fact, the bass from this subwoofer goes so deep that there are times when we had to deliberately turn the bass knob down. We particularly liked the fact that there is no need to run separate power from the battery as the subwoofer can run on a nominal 50 watts of power.
Do note that you will need RCA extension wiring if you want to hook up the underseat subwoofer effectively to your car audio unit. The bass from this subwoofer feels tight and deep, and really adds a layer of low-end frequency response to music and bass-heavy genres. The Nakamichi NBF609A is one of the most powerful underseat subwoofers we have reviewed. It is essentially a slim car subwoofer with a RMS power of 120 watts and a peak of 1000 watts. It also features a compact design that allows the NBF609A to be installed in many places in your car and underneath the car passenger seat. It has a nice frequency range of 34 Hz to 400 Hz and a low pass crossover from 50 Hz to 150 Hz. We also liked that the subwoofer has a remote knob for easy adjustment and allows for RCA and head level inputs. This subwoofer has a compact dimension of 280 x 195 x 75 mm.
We were pretty impressed when we first tested out the Nakamichi NBF609A underseat subwoofer. It greatly improved the overall sound performance of the car, providing much deeper bass and a well-rounded response. We’d also recommend replacing the car head unit to improve the sound performance of the subwoofer and connect to the subwoofer with the RCA outputs. This subwoofer does produce lower bass notes with good precision and pretty thumping bass. It does add a little “fullness” to the overall sound signature and takes off the bass load from the main car speakers.
