Sound Performance
The Onkyo A-9010 delivers very detailed sound performance when paired with a decent stereo of stereo speakers or floor standing speakers next to the TV. The receiver produces a naturally bright sound with a nice low end response; it adds a level of detail and complexity to the music which makes it sound really enjoyable to listen to. That being said, do note that the Onkyo A-9010 delivers 44 watts RMS per channel which may not be suitable for a more high-end setup that requires more power. If you are using the Onkyo A-9010 for casual listening, they will work magic with your stereo setup and you can crank up the volume on your speakers without getting any or little distortion with this receiver.
Design
The Onkyo A-9010 comes in a very sleek and modern looking design with a nice aluminium finish. It blends in really well when placed next to a TV set or stereo setup. The volume knob is nicely located at the center of the receiver, together with bass, treble and balance knobs on the side. It also comes with multiple RCA input sources for you to connect different music sources to the receiver at the same time. It also comes with a nice optical cable which does give a nice improvement in the overall sound quality when connected. We liked the fact that the receiver also comes with a remote control which you can use to adjust the volume and other simple controls, although you might have to adjust the bass and treble controls manually. We also liked the nice LED lights on the receiver which indicates the currently signal input and power. Our overall thoughts on the Onkyo A-9010 is that it is a very nice and sleek stereo receiver that works really well and looks great in a stereo setup.
